Job type: Part-time

Remote (USA Only)

Hiring from: USA Only

Category: All others

Joining the Education team at Mote, you will leverage your unique understanding of education technology to spark growth in our already fantastic community of US-based teachers and their students.

As you probably know: we have a highly functional, fast, delightful product that commands love and loyalty across the globe. We are seeking exceptional storytellers, connected with a wide reaching network of stakeholders that have an effortless ability to articulate the power of Mote through carefully created and engaging experiences.

In this role, you’ll pro-actively seek solutions by creating content to be proud of, that will inspire teachers and leaders of education and speak to the values that they hold most dearly. You’ll report to the VP of Education and work closely with our Customer Success and Product teams.

We know that sounds like a lot and we understand you’ll need to prioritize! For at least the next 3-6 months, you’ll need to find a balance between strategy (network outreach, user research) and action (content creation, webinars and focused school/district level demonstrations).

  • You recognise teaching as the most important job in the world and have 5+ years’ experience as an innovative classroom practitioner and school leader.
  • You place education before technology.
  • You are a confident creator and facilitator of outstanding professional development with a proven track record.
  • You take pride in keeping up to date with developments in edtech and have expertise in knowing the ways in which particular tools will resonate with teachers.
  • Intrinsically motivated, knowing that you have made a difference means a great deal.
  • You are happy and driven by remote working; happy to trade-off the camaraderie and distractions of office life for flexibility on location and working hours.
  • You are an excellent self-monitor – able to critique your own work, whilst also seeking and appreciating constructive feedback from others.
  • You have a growth mindset, and are comfortable thinking about and discussing your progress in relation to a lifelong learning journey.
  • You are able to balance your urge to start from a blank sheet of paper with an appreciation for the need to achieve meaningful impact for education from week one, and you are happy juggling both short-term and long-term projects in any given week.
  • You are obsessively curious about the needs of teachers and students, and you enjoy digging into their underlying motivations and aspirations through research.
  • You know how and when to push back firmly and politely on feedback from colleagues including the founders, but you try your best to bring the team along with you by explaining your thinking and telling compelling stories about our users.
  • You have great peripheral vision for non-edu design gaps across the business. You’ll look for ways to influence and inspire work across the company that benefits our users that you most cherish: teachers and students!

  • Competitive day rate
  • Share in a bonus pool
  • Work from home
  • Excitement of joining an edtech startup
  • Flexible hours to fit around other commitments
