About the Team Finance

The Finance department within IRI has many responsibilities, ranging from ensuring we pay our suppliers, to working collaboratively with our commercial teams on new and existing contracts. The team help our commercial departments know if they are on track to hit the financial targets, but also ensure transparency by communicating regularly to the wide business our overall performance


Your Responsibilities 

The Finance Manager is responsible for all aspects of financial management, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as donor requirements. This role builds the capacity of the local finance team. S/he oversees the day to day work of the finance department and is responsible for the effective use and deployment of staff and financial resources. 

Responsibilities are: 

  1. Produce and distribute monthly management reports to agreed time scales 
  2. Produce detailed reports and forecasts to form the basis of the Global Financial Assessments 
  3. Produce financial reports detailing actual expenditure against forecast to agreed timescales 
  4. Produce required financial reports for members of the team and Board of Directors 
  5. Produce annual financial reports and statements to agreed time scales to comply with the global requirements of IRI and the South African legal framework. 
  6. Assist in the development of annual budgets in collaboration with the Director of Finance; MD and functional heads and 
  7. Manage the payroll system and Provident Fund Scheme and ensure that payments are made to individuals, SARS, Provident Fund and Medical Aid Providers to set timetables. 
  8. Lead on tax planning, including VAT related matters. 
  9. Maintain current standing with all mandated local tax and benefits registrations and requirements, including submissions of payments and reports (SARS, COIDA,UIF ) Status etc 
  10. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting 
  11. Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process 
  12. Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors and inter-company account
  13. Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems across all teams 
  14. Facilitate finance training and instructor lead sessions
