Codecademy is looking for a knowledgeable programmer or instructor to help develop Python courses with Jupyter Notebooks. The Catalog Content Contributor works directly with the Codecademy Curriculum team to author interactive lessons, quizzes, and projects to help turn a high-level syllabus into reality. This is a paid, remote, part-time position, with a typical commitment of ~10-30 hours of work per week.


  • Design and author interactive lessons, quizzes, and projects.
  • Think pedagogically to break down technical concepts into digestible exercises
  • Collaborate with Codecademy’s Curriculum team to craft learning outcomes and build a compelling learner experience.


  • Knowledge of Jupyter Notebooks and Python
  • Fluency and experience in Data Science, including data cleaning, analysis, visualization
  • Familiarity with foundational machine learning algorithms such as linear regression
  • Familiarity with data concepts such as sampling and distributions
  • Fluency with and experience writing Python code, including using a variety of Python frameworks such as pandas, Matplotlib, and Scikit-learn.
  • A strong command of written and spoken English


  • Professional experience with technical or academic writing, particularly in a digital format
  • Experience using the Codecademy platform
  • Professional experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
