Summary

CGC’s Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing efforts for both CGC and its clients consistent with each organization’s objectives which range from generating engagement, building membership, and brand building to fundraising, event attendance, and donor acquisition/retention.

Job Type: This is a 40 hour per week, contract position (1099) with no benefits, but with a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to work from home.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as a day-to-day client and project manager, communicating and coordinating client projects and contractors, to produce quality results on schedule;
  • Write quality copy as needed for clients and for CGC, possibly including research and managing the review/edit process;
  • Build and execute social media strategies for CGC and CGC clients through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification;
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share creative daily social content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds connections and encourages engagement;
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each social media platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content;
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community;
  • Design, generate, edit, and distribute emails via MailChimp or Constant Contact for CGC and CGC clients;
  • Manage Constant Contact or Mailchimp mailing lists and segments;
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules;
  • Continuously improve results by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social and email data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information;
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and CGC management, as appropriate, to manage reputation, identify key players, coordinate actions, and cultivate content;
  • Develop and recommend effective paid advertising campaigns via social platforms;
  • Track new developments in the world of social media, fundraising, and marketing to make sure CGC is delivering the most innovative product and content to clients and followers;
  • Use Canva to create graphic content as needed;
  • Implement and maintain a blog program for CGC;
  • Research and thoughtfully recommend new tools and strategies to CGC management;
  • Other duties as agreed upon.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a marketing-related field;
  • 2-4 years experience in digital marketing, specifically social media and email;
  • Superb organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including listening skills;
  • Copywriting, design, basic photography & videography, positioning, creativity skills;
  • Curiosity and a desire to always be the first to know about industry innovations;
  • Enthusiastically willing to travel for the clients and sometimes work on weekends to cover events for social media;
  • Must be entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to work well in a multiple deadline, high pressure environment;
  • Requires proactive approach to obtaining information and managing workflow;
  • Ability to behave professionally with co-workers, contractors, and clients;
  • Experience with existing social media platforms, especially Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn, and willingness to learn;
  • Basic knowledge of Constant Contact and Mailchimp required,
  • Basic knowledge of computer graphic and multimedia design preferred, specifically Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat, (or willingness to learn);
  • Basic knowledge of the Google Suite, Hootsuite, Trello, and Slack preferred (or willingness to learn);
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress, web design, web development, CRM, and SEO, preferred (or willingness to learn);
  • Experience or an interest in the nonprofit industry a plus;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Good, clear vision (approximately 20/20 vision) and hearing with or without the aid of assistive devices.
