The Senior Commercial Recruiter, APAC, is a new position for us at Fastly, and will be our first Talent specialist position in the APAC Region. Based in Tokyo or working remotely in Australia, you’ll support the hiring for the Commercial business (Sales, Marketing, Solutions, Customer Success, Customer Support, Cloud engineering, and Solution Architecture) across Japan, Australia and SE Asia regions. 

Reporting into the Talent Lead EMEA + APAC, (based in London), you’ll drive the recruitment for hiring the best talent in the region. You will work closely with our hiring managers to partner and develop strategies to find top performing candidates across geographies, verticals and levels of seniority.

You’ll form part of our global talent team of 20 amazing people, and you’ll bring your experience and share ideas to us of new ways we can attract, and retain, the best talent of all levels for the business. 

We are seeking a fluent Japanese speaking, seasoned recruiter who brings a passion for technology with a balance of passion for talent acquisition, creativity, a solutions mindset and lots of drive to join our team. 

What You’ll Do

  • Work with hiring managers across the regions to devise a hiring plan and strategy to hire high performing talent to our teams
  • Source, engage and activate passive candidates
  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process with an emphasis on building strong hiring manager partnerships, candidate advocacy and strategies that lead to a high close ratio
  • Strategize different ways to build talent pipelines and execute on tactical research, referral generation, events and sourcing campaigns
  • Screen resumes and interview candidates to determine position + value add Manage interview and hiring decision-making process with sales interviewers and hiring managers
  • Regularly track pipeline, priorities and performance data to share with internal stakeholders
  • Drive offer process, partnering with global hiring managers and executive team
  • Recommend improvements to sourcing, process and global expansion strategy
  • Work closely with the Diversity + Inclusion team, and devise strategies to diversify hiring at Fastly  
  • Drive Interview training for new managers and interviewers across the region
  • Work closely with HRBP, Compensation + benefits, Learning and Development, and onboarding teams to share information and insights on new hires, market conditions, compensation packages and Industry insights. 

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years progressive recruiting experience with a highly technical organization, preferably also with agency experience for the Japanese market
  • Experience hiring for Commercial + sales focused roles, additional experience with technical roles would be beneficial 
  • Ability to proactively source + attract passive talent in the industry through multiple methods and channels, and able to think outside the box and creatively of new ways to attract the best talent in APAC to Fastly
  • Demonstrate Expertise at partnering cross-functionally and with senior leadership to drive consensus decisions and produce results
  • Excellent interview skills with ability to screen for both sales skills and cultural fit
  • Extensive tech industry knowledge with ability to identify target companies, conferences and other sources for top sales industry talent
  • Strong consultative and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both across all levels of the organization and externally
  • Ability to work autonomously as the sole recruiter in the region, working with a globally dispersed Talent Team
  • Fluent Japanese + English language proficiency 
  • Knowledge of Employment and HR policies would be highly advantageous
